Chief of Army Staff and president of Kurmitola Golf Club (KGC) General S M Shafiuddin Ahmed, SBP (BAR), OSP, ndu, psc, PhD has officially inaugurated the three-day ‘Hyundai 39th Korean Cup Golf Tournament 2023’ at Kurmitola Golf Club in Dhaka on 3rd March 2023. Ambassador H. E. Lee Jang-keun, Embassy of the Republic of Korea to Bangladesh, Chairman of Fair Group Mr. Ruhul Alam Al Mahbub, Director & CEO of Fair Technology Mr. Mutassim Daiaan and Mr. YU Yong-oh, Chairman of the Korean community in Bangladesh joined in the ceremony.  

The Korean Cup Golf Tournament which was first held in 1979 has not been held since it last happened in 2018. This year the Korean Community in Bangladesh decided to resume this traditional golf tournament after almost five years of rest in celebration of the 50th diplomatic anniversary between Korea and Bangladesh. More than 700 golfers will participate in the three days of intense competition. Hyundai, a leader in automotive innovation, is proud to be the title sponsor of this prestigious tournament. Master General of the Ordnance, Bangladesh Army & Vice President, KGC Maj Gen. Md. Zahirul Islam, SGP, ndc, psc, Club Captain, KGC Brig Gen Shawkat Osman, afwc, psc, Chief Executive Officer of Kurmitola Golf Club, Col Md Shahidul Haque (retd) and among the senior officials of Fair Group Mr. Hasnain Khurshed , Head of Communication & Corporate Philanthropy and Mr. J M Taslim Kabir, Head of Marketing and other high officials were also present in this inauguration.
